Advice to warriors :

Do your job with your mind as taut as an iron bow strung with wire.

This is the same as Zen meditation.

This is the post that I’ve promised you for a long time.

Time to buy a motorcycle:

Starting from Scratch?  New or Used?  Custom?  Classic?  Where to start?

We’ll share some thoughts and insight on buying a new bike.  Our thoughts on that are likely different from a lot of other motorcycle stores on the planet.  We all sell motorcycles, sure, and that IS important.  All motorcycle manufacturer’s and the stores that represent them embrace (at least they should,) support, and ultimately sell the lifestyle that they promote.  The wonderful brands that we’re fortunate enough to represent here are not really any different.  What is different though is what that “lifestyle” stands for.

Currently, the new brands that we represent are BMW and Ducati, though there is a mystery manufacturer coming soon.  All of which have a lifestyle that revolves around enjoying the ride, performance, and handling characteristics of those…

Where is this truth?

We spend an awful lot of time looking everywhere else. Of course, it’s novel, and it often holds our attention better than our immediate surroundings. And it can be comforting to get outside yourself in search of ______. Until we come full circle, and realize….

The way to solve the problems in your life

Sounds like an excellent approach!

Lou's avatarZen Flash

“The way to solve the problems in your life is to open your heart to others and to think differently. This has a better result and brings more peace and happiness in your life, especially ultimate happiness that you will experience forever and that you can give to everyone who is suffering and to everyone who needs your help.”

Flow in the snow

This is almost what my back yard looks like. Not nearly as majestic, but still lots of snow.

I hear Paris weather is above freezing…

Getting ready to ride

Getting ready to ride
(Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGGZEFgPYjs)

I’ve been finding some awesome video footage of motorcycles in Paris — and beyond — in France. Huge gatherings of bikers who gather and go for a ride. Individuals hopping on the backs of moto taxis and riding through Paris. On beautiful days under a blue sky. Or on bright days under a cloudy sky.

Either way, I’d much rather be doing that, than shoveling snow.

But here I sit… recovering after the second big storm in a week.

So it goes. It is winter, after all.

Well, at least I have YouTube.

Last two chapters winding up

Last two chapters are winding up… The book turned into a much bigger project than I expected. What was originally supposed to be a little story about how I got on the back of a motorcycle and flew through Paris traffic, has turned into something more involved.

Zen, business travel, French-American relations, global business, motorcycles, and a handful of realizations that kick-started my energy…

Once you start looking a little closer, it’s surprising what you find.

And now, here’s a little something to pass the time:

Chapters 4, 5, 6, 7… done, with two more to go

I’ve been neck-deep in day-job work, whilst rising several hours early each day to edit and write and edit and write.

It’s paying off in a big way. Although I’m a little worried about my keyboard. Some of the keys seem to be dying on me.

Still, the work goes on.

Because life is waiting…

I’d almost forgotten all about that, once upon a time.

Then I had the chance to remember.

All those plans, all that careful-ness…

A spring day

with rain threatening

and suddenly, everything’s different.
